In the world of stand-up comedy, the emcee is unjustly, the least-respected comedian on the show. It's enough to drive a comic insane. The moment the emcee graces the stage, the sparring begins - and this album is a beautiful representation of the push-and-pull dynamic.

Spanning 3 1/2 years at Dr. Grins Comedy Club in Grand Rapids, Michigan, these recordings have been compiled into one seamless show. You won't be able to tell where one ends and another begins. You'll feel like you're there in the audience, experiencing everything from exemplary crowd work and well-crafted jokes to unruly audiences and technical difficulties.

Birthdays, bachelor & bachelorette parties, anniversaries, as well as standard setup-punch-tag jokes revolving around sobriety, "offensive" material, clever observations about religion, family, pronunciations and facial hair - it's all here for your amusement.

This album was a laborious process and in the end, is a beautiful spectrum of perfection and chaos.
